Wall of silence
Like 3 Pin it 2There's a strange kind of war
Where words do the fighting
Behind every message, a bomb
Booby-trap all along
The wall of silence
Before a broken dawn
A single bird in the sky
Just before the moment
Of the first lie
That started it all
There's a strange kind of war
Where people are fighting
And children are dying
The cats are all crying
The politicians are lying
The heat intensifying
That day has turned to night
In the darkness of white
And the smoke of tonight
Whichever is lying
As the blood pouring
There's a strange kind of war
It's starting today
That began yesterday
In the trenches
Yet there is safety non
That mud cannot hide
The fright that subsides
When you see your mate dying,
Suffering,
Choking, frying,
With the smoke in his eyes
In a world full of lies
There's a strange kind of war
A war of silence
That a bird flies above
To see it all destroyed in the mud
Where is the love?
Every helmet; every mine
Every treaty, every crime
In the darkness and the smoke
In the puff of human choke
And misery
Is a strange kind of war
That is a wall of ultimate defiance
Do not forget the dead
Nor the bird with human lead
That died here
This very day in these trenches
In the eyes that cry along with
The piercing silence in the
The wall of silence
Silence,
Of war.
