WAR IS HELL ON THE HOMEFRONT

War is hell on the homefront dearest mother
All around me men are taking cover
Fighting an enemy just to stay ahead of the game
Who is at fault and who is to blame?

War is hell on the homefront mother of mine
Soldiers getting killed behind the enemy line
If I can get come back home to you once more
I will thank dearest God I know that for sure

War is on the homefront mother to this I say
Get me out of here alive for this I pray
Kill or be killed that is just the only way
Trying to get by one step at a time day by day
