Warpaint

Warpaint

Chapter one sets the tone for the rest of this song, so began his journey on a road that was treacherous and long.

He gained his first stripes at a very young age, each step preparing him for the war he would wage. The young lion continues to fight the rising of the tide, continusually searching for his place among the pride.

With each passing year more stripes are earned, everyone of them derived from painful lessons he's learned. All the battles he had won came at the highest of costs, none greater than this the two that he lost.

His mother taken from him as was the woman he loved, they had ascended to paradise in the clouds up above. Throughout his life he's been knocked down three times just to get up four, for the first time he loosens the grip on his sword.

Shield falls to his left with relative ease, this warrior is battered he falls to his knees. Praying hands pressed together and fingers crossed, he cries out to The Lord "please show me the way, and if I cannot see it forgive me for being lost"

He thought he was alone as heartache set in, then he remembered who's son he was, his life would always be filled with tough wins. The pain he felt seemed unbearable to take, he thought to himself i might bend but I'll never break.

I've lived some of life's toughest moments present and past, bring that on to me, God built me to last. With gold around his waist he arose from the ashes and debris, finally he had become the leader he aspired to be.

He had balanced the passion of his heart with the reason in his mind, and just like a lighthouse he began to shine. He was a father now, one his could never be, the final step was to create a lasting legacy.

Everything he had been through, his rise and his fall the daughter he had would crown it all. Now several verses in and countless corus's long, he had finally found the words to finish this song.
