Washed Away

Coming and going
The water keeps flowing
Beneath our feet

Moving faster and fast
We know we won’t last
But we can’t leave now

The water is rising
It isn’t surprising
We both knew it was happening

We’re going to get swept away
We aren’t even okay
So tell me, why are you laughing?

The expected comes as always
Flowing down the rivers hallways
Even though we end up crashing

As our vision begins to fade
I really am glad we stayed
Because it was worth all of the splashing
