Wasteland

There's a quiet tide over Gainsville
A red night sun over the window sill
Just before the missile hits from the town rear
We realize that it's nuclear
First the puff, then smoke
Fragments that infiltrate and poke
Everyone that's still hiding, ain't
Noses bleed whilst children faint
There's an eerie silence
A teen screams for decadence
PunK Goth slur Adare
AnYthing better than nUclear
The wasteland is zoned off now
Army came round and fenced off, that's how
That's how the fucking desert got it's name
Gainesville nuked into the history book of fame
The goths now run the show
Their leader Adare know
The day a nuke by hand
Was delivered to this Wasteland

It would be better to not write about such
things; I am glad you see the relevance,
it's my first anti war nuclear poem
and hopefully my last! Thank you Chris
for visiting this Wasteland,
best wishes
Jai :)
when i was younger (early teens ) i used to wear a CND badge .not really knowing what it was all about ,my friends older brother gave it to me saying "keep it someday you will know what it means!" until later years i realized the devastation such nuclear weapons caused .death and pain . a reminder still needs to be given to the world unless its laid to rest . great piece jai !!! tina x
That's the scary truth isn't it; to be told to
live in fear because the monster is coming,
Symbols help understand the world we
live in, CND meaning campaign for nuclear
disarmament, the peace sign is what you
refer to; what will get us out of this mess?
thanks Tina for visiting this wasteland;
kind rgs from Jai :)
great write Jai congrats x

thanks Susan, the remedy for fear is
in your poems, make people happy
again. We create our own misery
but let's get out of this wasteland
way before its too late.
