Waves

The flashes come in waves,
Waves so powerful, they leave chaos for days.
The moment it hits, I'm reliving that night,
His face unforgettable; mine ghostly white.

I see the blur of naked skin,
And the innocents pain within.
The sheets now painted a striking red,
A crime scene; I wish to drop dead.

When the violent waves pass by,
I reflect and ask myself "why".
Why am I still so troubled by this,
You see, I'm spiralling into the dark abyss.
