Waves

From underneath, the green earth ripples like a fading memory.
Something pulls, dragging body from the shallows of mind.
Abandonment leaves to shiver near the sun.
Serenity sings a sweet goodbye
To the long, foamy sighs on the sand.
Below, the ocean laughs like God.
Like anger and lust all drenched in stinging salt.
Like fire coral blowing on the hot.
The deeper, the darker, the faster, the farther.
Sinking, like a secret.
Until the waves are ghosts
and the surface is sanity.
Breathe.
Artificial breath that the lungs don't want.
Think thoughts drowned too deep.
No one will see.
Sleep in motionless currents.
Die. Death by color, an overdose of color that never found light.
Blue no longer is. Not like up there.
Here blue hides behind the whites of your eyes.
Waiting for a blink so the deep can have its feast.
Swallowed whole and still holding on to each breath.
Like it matters.
Let go and off go the bubbles.
To the top.
Bursting as the breath of untold stories.
And He laughs and watches waves.
Wave after wave after wave.
