Poem -

We End

I believed in compromise
Like darkness lifting to a beautiful sunrise,
How love had freed
The prisoner in me.
A man who knew not at all
And at your feet so easily would fall,
If you were to hold my given red
Simply stroke the hairs on my head.
I asked so little of you
But you took so much more than I knew,
I only escaped a cell
Becoming a slave out on bail,
Now the chains have started to rust
Hard to move on when I've settled with the dust,
I'll never escape your frozen grip
I'm glued to the treasures of my fruitful gift.
Spirits broken but hope is on the rise
Now I know there's no longer compromise,
We may look upon each other as enemies
With that once was part of us starting to freeze,
Just cant help to think how unfortunately we end
And I guess like you I will begin again.
