We May Dream

We May Dream

We grow old and we may dream-- if we may
of the pages well-written, no matter the little stains,
and the laughter if we can still hear it, we may

We grow old and we may dream-- if we may
of a world we leave to others, a world good and safe
and a word of wisdom, if wise we became

We grow old and we may dream-- if we may
of the winds passing kindly while we stay
and the hand of time on us be gentle, it may

We grow old and we may dream-- if we may
that the seeds we planted
become endless wonders
in the world we create.

We may dream-- if we may.
