WE the PEOPLE

The United States of America
The word to focus on is UNITED
If we continue to present a divided nation 
to ourselves and the world arena
We are flirting with disaster
Think of the world as a huge game reserve
In this reserve are prey and predator
You are going to be one or the other
Weak and wounded are usually the prey
What have we done to ourselves?
By selfish power mongering and deceit
By not being what they are supposed to be
The division in the rhetoric
This election, this president,   this candidate..
Owe the American public a HUGE apology
We pay their salaries..
We pay for their opportunity to put on their show
With the sons of our husbands, sons and fathers
and women as well
When do we get tired of funding a circus?
When do we look into the death toll of Covid,
the toll of opiate overdoses, suicide rate among our youth,
veterans that are tossed to the side..
When do we look at ourselves in the mirror and say
Hey I am not going to take this anymore.
you and you  and you are GONE
and WE the PEOPLE..... are back in charge.
