We Will Remember

We shalt not forget the ones who have fallen for the freedom in which we thrive

Its for pride and for honour that we keep their memories alive

From the battlefields of Ypres to the slaughter of the Somme

They went into battle as fit young men,in no time,they were gone

Left are the scarred landscapes where once those brave men stood

Scarred with the decay of rotting ammo and with their blood

But now lush pastures and deciduous trees thrive amongst old ruins

To hide away from our children's eyes the sadness they where incurring 

Not just from World War One,bloodshed is still going

Past conflicts to the present day,there lives we are owing

In the sky's  above and on land seas and oceans the brave fought their battles

And now in those old battlefields where the poppies wildly grow

All you'll hear is a swishing sound and not the machine guns rattle

Let us take a moment and think of those lost souls

And thank them for their sacrifice as we may achieve our life's goals
