Welcome Home

Welcome Home

Welcome home it’s a battlefield
but you can’t see the weapons we wield
constantly prepared
For your secrets to be shared
Like predator on prey
Around them night and day
like a treadmill on repeat
keep up or face defeat
even when you’re sick and even when you’re tired
they keep fueling the flam so you must continue to fight the fire

Welcome home it’s a battlefield
they know just how to crack your shield
they know just how to hurt you worst
Nobody knows who started this huge fight first
just constantly attacking everyone’s supposed to be this way I guess
I don’t like this atmosphere I really must confess
but this is life in my household
When I'm internally crying, you can guess it gets old
but no matter what I say and no matter how I act
This home is broken and internally cracked

Welcome home its a battlefield
leaving the house is the only way i’ve healed
A social butterfly by force of nature
a certain type of social nomenclature
such internal scars won’t heal easy
and speaking your feelings is just too cheesy
they know your weakness and your faults
its like you’re getting a cut and they add the salts
now you’d think I was speaking of bullies at school
but this is my family that makes me look like a fool
