Well He Was Just Seventeen

Well He Was Just Seventeen

Tomorrow is your birthday, and if you still were here;
We’d shout “Cody just turned seventeen”, and revel in birthday cheer!
But Fate took you far too early, two and one-half years ago;
We celebrate your life each year now, for we will ever love you so!
.
We remember the last one together, you turned fourteen on that day;
We had a great dinner party, our dearest friends came by our way!
Uncle Bill and your Aunt Susan, with your pal, their Doodle Teddy;
You played and ate doggie ice cream, you were happy as could be!
.
This photo shows pure affection, he and Aunt Susan loved you very much;
Whenever we got together, their hearts you always touched!
These memories now are priceless, they rest forever in our Souls;
The endless joy you brought us, we forever will extol!
.
.
Seventeen years old
If only you were still here
To blow out candles
