Well It Was Just Seventeen

Well It Was Just Seventeen

It was just seventeen years ago, when we shared Christmas for the first time;
You were a puppy, five months old, when we sang our first “Auld Lang Syne”!
Oh, how you changed my life forever, from the first moment that we met;
You became my cherished Soulmate, so much more than just a pet!
.
You were my greatest present ever, a gift from God above;
You opened up my hardened Soul, we shared such perfect love!
You made me a believer, in Buddha’s Path of Life;
You brought me perfect harmony, you eradicated all my strife!
.
I’d never known such peace before, you calmed my stormy seas;
You took me to Nirvana, my life you e’er appeased!
You were my Soul’s salvation, you delivered me from Hell;
The abyss of abjection, into which I’d hopeless fell!
.
But now I’ve been without you, two months shy, of four sad years;
Fate stole you unexpectedly, the culmination of my fears!
Now Christmas again approaches, my fourth one without you;
But our Souls are e’er connected, our love is ever true!
.
Fate took you away
But our Souls will never part
Our love eternal
