Whaler's Tale

Pray to the gods, a blessed exhale,
Harness a current and set sail,
Kind winds may waft abound,
Upon briny crests acrowned.
Wayward cotton shrouds,
Whispers of wispy clouds
Vast azure above salty seas,
Float alight on a breeze.
Cast harpoons to mighty whale,
Quicken batten-down, set sail.
To return to landlubber true,
Afore by chance misses you.
Come hither weathered seamen,
Croons ethereal siren demon
Parched sailor abashed by wake,
Endless waters, nary partake.
Descend to barnacle bed,
Adieu to thee, seafarer stead.
Briny waterlogged bone,
Needless plotted tombstone.
Β Tis fodder to fathomless sea.
Poseidon heeds no craven plea.
Brave waters, alas sail,
Reside anew in whaler's tale.
