What Did You Do?

What Did You Do?

She went round the world - flew on Concorde,
to New York, came back on QE2, had dinner
at the captain's table, as a mayoress may too,
not bad, for a documented start - what did you do?

Flew to LA - took flights to the Pacific islands,
for four months, what a waste of palm trees and coral sand,
alone, looking so well and tanned, chances are few,
around the world for a year - what did you do?

Postcards from international venues, to make you envious,
but ironically, this person would only make you incredulous,
paragliding as a matter of course, backpacking too,
does this sound jealous? No, what did you really do?

A friend of mine flew to Fiji and got sunburnt toes,
I did more than all of you - while you were going with flows.
