WHAT HAPPENS HAPPENS

He has a walking cane to help him get around
Clippitty clop like a horse's trot was the soundĀ
Beside him was a lady who uses a white stickĀ
Her movements so slow and certainly not quick

Together determined getting to their destinationĀ
No gold medal waiting or standing ovationĀ
Just two people both getting on with their dayĀ
When it comes to their ages I can't really say

It seems to me they are probably man and wife
Fair to say both of them not in the prime of lifeĀ
Looking at them thoughts going through my head
Me in twenty years time or quite possibly deadĀ
