WHAT HAPPENS HAPPENS

He has a walking cane to help him get around
Clippitty clop like a horse's trot was the sound
Beside him was a lady who uses a white stick
Her movements so slow and certainly not quick

Together determined getting to their destination
No gold medal waiting or standing ovation
Just two people both getting on with their day
When it comes to their ages I can't really say

It seems to me they are probably man and wife
Fair to say both of them not in the prime of life
Looking at them thoughts going through my head
Me in twenty years time or quite possibly dead
