What is love

What is love? Is it betrayal or defeat or those gentle words your mother whisper in your ear so soft and sweet?
Is love the wind that blows or could it be my tears, maybe it's the pain deep inside that I have felt all of these years.
Is love peace is it pain is it sadness or madness or the hole that burns inside of you like a flame?
Is love as bitter as a lemon or as sweet as a peach is love right beneath your nose or like a shelf that you can't reach?
  What is love??
