What Should Have Been

Inspired by Tony Taylor’s powerful poem, “So Damn Tired”
Each day now in my Golden Age
I look back on my life’s written page
The wrongs I did to others near
When I should have given my love so dear
.
I weep for that which should have been
But when tempted sometimes, I committed sin
Oh, to go back, and to change my past
To hold them close, and love forever last
.
But it’s way too late, the damage done
My final years have now begun
I sit alone at night and sob
Of all the beauties, in my life I robbed
.
.
I cry for the past
If only I could change it
But it’s too late now

great poem I think we all do that look back in are past and ask why did I do that why did I say that and now we wish we could go back change it but we cant
Dear Greg,
Like I said, to be able to relive one's life, knowing what we do today. But, unfortunately, what's done is done, and there is no going back, only the tears of regret.

Sad poem well written angel sometimes a look to the past can be good for the soul angel
Dear Angel,
As I get older, it seems like the memories that surround my Soul, are the mistakes I made in life. Once in a while, a happy one sneaks in, but is all too soon overshadowed by the others.
Hugs, Peace, and Love,

WOW!! Sir LARRY RAN!!.... you KNOW I can relate to this....I think just about ANYONE can!!.... which is the mark of a great write!!..... the honesty within the phrasing here is so powerful that it makes the pain of it JUMP off of the page!!......a very interesting thing happens when you finish writing a piece like this however...... at least it did for me!!......I pray it happened for you too.... I don't think I need to say what that is....... Lots of Love to you my brother!!.......VERY moving poetry!!.......T xo
Ps. Apologies for the lateness of my recognition of this man!! ?✴❤
My Dear Tony,
You inspired me to create, which you have termed, "a great write". I think that we both have had the same reaction to our pieces dealing with this delicate subject matter. If only one could go back, and correct all the wrongs they committed, instead of ruing them forever.
Love you Bro,
Larry xxx
