What We Saw That Day

We went into the woods one day to play.
How easily a child's mind can wonder,
But what we saw that day,
Life's lemons can be squandered.

I thought I was crazy,
But my friends they see it too.
A devil in a dress,
Shouting "I'm coming after you."

I didn't know whether to laugh or scream,
Taking to our heels we run.
Someone pinch me out this dream,
Sorry Mr. Devil we didn't mean to poke and make fun.

What we saw that day,
Our parents would never believe.
A monster falling in a such a funny way,
Just after he ran into a tree.

A glance back and a laugh once more,
The sight of devil legs in air dress over head,
Made us all fall rolling hysterically on the forest floor,
A pack made that day that secrets are better kept instead.
