What will they say about you

They said that I was smart, that I could out think them all.
They said that I was handsome, like a painting on the wall.
They said that I was kind, nicer then the rest.
They said that I was generous, that I only gave my best.
They said that I was athletic, faster then a deer.
They said that I was brave, I never showed any fear.
They said that I was moral, I always did what's right.
They said that I was calm, that I'd never start a fight.
They said that I was helpful, always there to lend a hand.
They said that I was righteous, ever ready to take a stand.
They said that I was cheerful, always there with a smile.
They said that I was patient, that I would wait a while.
I know they say I'm smart, but really I'm pretty dumb.
I know they say I'm handsome, but most times I look so glum.
I know they say I'm kind, but really I was just there.
I know they say I'm generous, but I had so much I could spare.
I know they say I'm athletic, but I could stands to lose a pound.
I know they say I'm brave, but just when no ones around.
I know they say I'm moral, but all I do is hide.
I know they say I'm calm, but I'm really screaming inside.
I know they say I'm helpful, but you'd do the same for me.
I know they say I'm righteous, but there's always been a need.
I know they say I'm cheerful, but there's tears behind my eyes.
I know they say I'm patient, but when no ones there time just flys.
You might ask yourself, "at your funeral what will they say about you?"
But I think the better question is, will any of it be true.
I know that at funerals it's wrong to speak bad of the dead.
But maybe next time you can just say "he was humble" instead.
