Poem -

What Would the World Say?

We begin this story on a bitter cold winter's day

When the mood was gloomy and the sky was black.

I thought to myself what the world would say,

If everybody stopped before they acted, just took a step back.

If they stopped to think, before they declared war,

If they stopped to think, before pulling the trigger and killing a human.

If he stopped to think before he hit her and called her a whore.

Or if there wasn't a difference between a chink, a nigger, a cracker or a Cuban.

If they realized true beauty lives within,

And that everybody struggles even though it doesn't show.

If they stopped to think about all their sins,

If the junkies put down their syringes and blow.

If they stopped for a second to spread the kindness,

Or if they turned to a stranger and gave them a smile.

If they took the time to see, instead of covering it all up with blindness,

If they learned to never, EVER neglect a child.

Is it just me who sees how much better the world would be?

If everybody stopped, to think about their situation.

This is all me, take this as my final plea,

To help better future generations.
