What’s at the End?
I fear death, as most do.
I wonder, when I die, will I
be remembered or will I be
Forgotten.
I have heard the saying
“There’s light at the end of
the tunnel”, but what
If there isn’t? What if
I die and there’s nothing?
No heaven, no hell, no light,
Just nothing.
Sometimes I think it would
be okay if there wasn’t
an end, but then I think
Would it last? For how long?
We could be gone in the blink
Of an eye. I wouldn’t have
Time to say I love you one
Last time. To tell you, you
Are perfect. It would just end.
It’s as if the nothing of
It all could save the world
from misery.

The key to being immortalized, in a sense, is to get your writing published, Soccer_10_Queen.
That way you leave something tangible behind through a legacy of words.
Something people can hold, sink their teeth into and wrap their minds around.
Would any of us even know who Edgar Allan Poe was had he not been a popular published American Gothic poet?
No, of course we wouldn't.
As for dying, I'm ready to go as soon as old Bone Face comes rap-rap-rapping at my chamber door.
I mean, we're all gonna die (although not tomorrow, I hope!). So, why worry about something we cannot change?
Oh, before I forget, congrats on having this poem selected as a nominee for May's Poetry Contest.
Nice writing, keep 'em comin'.

thank you!
I followed a soul once, to her light, her heaven, Ive seen the gates and tasted deaths sweet existence, it was wonderful. I can certainly say that life after life will greet you with open arms. Great poem.
Oh the power of 'wondering' it's totally out of our control and that's the surprise in leaving this world. Hopefully there is a light. Well written! Congrats on your nomination!!
