What’s the Last Word Worth?

What’s the Last Word Worth?

What’s the last word worth?
Leave lasting hurt?
Keep your insecurities curbed?
Pennies on your person
A purse too small to hold its weight in wealth
The anti-stealth,
Jeopardizer of mental health
That at first seems worth the time it takes to text it
Check back at your messages
and wrestle with
the lack of satisfaction
Any further action quelled
So if you're gonna do it - do it well
So it can age that way
At least as far as you can sell
The farther I’ve reached outside myself
The farther I fell, the harder I flail
Once you say what needs to be said there’s really nothing left to tell
I cut my losses,
Can’t take another L
Told the devil gimme five
while I'm still alive and well
I will keep these dark thoughts to myself
But I can't keep them locked for the sake of my health
So I write them down to let them out
And as the ink sinks in
the emotions shrink and sink like a ship
Like the first sip of the last drink on your lips - it would be a sin to spill
Death is inevitable, go for the kill
I’ll share a laugh with Lucy later down in hell

The fish of the sea

Beautiful poetry. These lines captivated me. Pinned for perfection.  Also welcome to the Cosmo!

Being Me

Oh well written, Evening!  It is hard to keep things together when a relationship's ending blindsided you. I love how you angled this around getting the last word and finished by having the last laugh. It does good to write your anguish away. And it makes for great poetry. Welcome to Cosmo x

Thanks a lot, appreciate the feedback! Couldn't agree more, for me it's all about redirecting that energy.

At times it seems a right thing to do. Well said.
