What’s the Last Word Worth?

What’s the last word worth?
Leave lasting hurt?
Keep your insecurities curbed?Â
Pennies on your personÂ
A purse too small to hold its weight in wealthÂ
The anti-stealth,Â
Jeopardizer of mental healthÂ
That at first seems worth the time it takes to text itÂ
Check back at your messagesÂ
and wrestle withÂ
the lack of satisfactionÂ
Any further action quelledÂ
So if you're gonna do it - do it wellÂ
So it can age that wayÂ
At least as far as you can sellÂ
The farther I’ve reached outside myselfÂ
The farther I fell, the harder I flail
Once you say what needs to be said there’s really nothing left to tellÂ
I cut my losses,
Can’t take another L
Told the devil gimme fiveÂ
while I'm still alive and wellÂ
I will keep these dark thoughts to myselfÂ
But I can't keep them locked for the sake of my health
So I write them down to let them outÂ
And as the ink sinks in
the emotions shrink and sink like a ship
Like the first sip of the last drink on your lips - it would be a sin to spillÂ
Death is inevitable, go for the killÂ
I’ll share a laugh with Lucy later down in hellÂ

Beautiful poetry. These lines captivated me. Pinned for perfection. Also welcome to the Cosmo!Â
Thank you! Appreciate the warm welcome.
Oh well written, Evening! It is hard to keep things together when a relationship's ending blindsided you. I love how you angled this around getting the last word and finished by having the last laugh. It does good to write your anguish away. And it makes for great poetry. Welcome to Cosmo x
Thanks a lot, appreciate the feedback! Couldn't agree more, for me it's all about redirecting that energy.Â
At times it seems a right thing to do. Well said.
