Wheelchair

Helpless I stand
My son's fate
Out of my hands
How can this be
A young man it still seems

Bound to a chair
Your legs do not move
Handicap I never thought
Life is not fair it seems

Months go by
So much pain
But you still smile
You are so brave

I wish you could walk
Up a flight of stairs
That wheelchair won't change
Your spirit within

You're a fighter
I raised you that way
You will win this battle
Victory your way

You may be sitting
In that wheelchair
But in my mind
You are my son
A 6' 3" kind man

No matter what
You will still win
You may not walk
But your heart and soul
Is so good within

I'm so proud
And that will forever be
You still have those dimples
You got from me
I love to see

This crippling will not stop
The man you have come to be...
