Poem -

When Stars Are Born

My skin knew aforetime

The covenant would be mine

Sealed for monogamy

Yet filled for countless progeny

And the veil would tear

On the night of our glory

You and I tested for fidelity

And one of us was impure

The virgin wasn't me

And so I took your power

Your blood covered my shame

As we brought forth a little one

A union under a new name

And this was our covenant before God

To lift up this child

This third

Already passed through the fire on your altar

Consecrated to the Most High

A star clothed in the sun
