When the Storm Sings

When the Storm Sings

Oh sky,
Why are you crying?

You’re tears cast a beautiful life in my eyes
And though I appreciate you everyday,
I will admit that your sadness brings me such joy

And that I smile as you weep
I cheer for your hopeless howls
I yearn for your suffering

If I am culpable, please show me

But do it through a grim gust;
A blinding beam;
A forbidding frost

For a strenuous storm will just soothe me

It is now when I feel most alive
And though I value your daily esteem,
You should know that I am not here for you

You are a precious petal in a boundless garden
And I sing for the bouquet, not the discrete
