Two Become One
'Love consists of this: two solitudes that meet, protect and greet each other.' ( Rainer Maria Rilke)

Like stray, wayward birds,
we find it difficult to
discover blissful,
unsullied sanctuary.
O we are riddled
with burning questions that blaze
throughout fraught lifetimes!
Easy answers are not for us.
We lament Love's worth
in a disposable age.
Yet we often come
together in the rhythms
of mutual wings:
which are always open to
wider worlds. We share
disdain for parochial
ways and means. Henceforth.
we fly to new horizons ,
as soul mates reborn,
when faithful winds blow our way.

Excellent poem Dominic.
Wonderful to read and to see you writing so eloquently with poetry from the heart.

Thanks Shaun. Like I said to Jim, it's actually written in syllabic verse ( sort of extended haikus in my case): a form which I often deploy. Unfortunately, that's not an option in the genre section on this site. Also, I sent you another message on THAT other site....aaargh!! I await your reply...all in God's good time of course.
All the best,
Dominic.
Dominic, syllabic verse works for me and good to see in unison with your poetic mind and imagination.
And with regards to THAT other site..(Oh Dear God!!)
I'm going in to view and to reply to your message.
Armed with just my courage, a wooden stake, a crucifix, holy water and my fully loaded Desert Eagle (The Troll Stopper).
Poetry fingers crossed I'm hoping to be back here alive later tonight.
And it is good to see you on here and what food for thought you bring to poetries table.
