When We Were Young

Nothing mattered, every day was like gay abandon,
you had a free roof, trouble was you had to learn a lesson,
however, sometimes you never learned, even until today,
those old stigmas were carried thro,' you wanted your way.
You wanted everything, regardless of any obstacles,
it was not best, you had intransigence of stubborn mules;
but perhaps you came thro' in the end, love will transcend,
like unstoppable droplets and the willow that finally bend.
Our brothers and sisters seemed more adaptable than us,
we became labelled, oddball and turned out infamous;
if someone could drink two pints to your solitary one,
it didn't make them outlandish, rather just said and done.
Now that roof is no longer free, you're no longer a mystery,
after all the pitfalls, did you end up where you'd like to be?

Hello Terry...
Yes and No...
No because, there's a thief that will come and take it and you're the one who did all the work for it in the first place...
Sometimes, the wise thing to do is have what no one else wants...
Yes , I arrived exactly where I want to be...
Great write!
Thank you for sharing...
