Where Eagles Dare

Where Eagles Dare

Onward and upward,
Safe and slow.
Cold as hell,
Ice and snow.

Granite rock,
Challenges all.
One mistake,
Down you go.

Terminal velocity,
Is one two five.
Stay frosty sharp,
Don't take that dive.

Step by step,
Take no chances.
Slowly but surely,
Small advances.

God it's hard,
This vertical face.
Sheer endurance,
Now takes place.

On its summit,
Sky so blue.
Worth the effort,
What a view!

Why do you climb,
Because it's there.
To reach the top,
Where eagles dare.

Tina glad you enjoyed reading it and for your superb uplifting comments too.
And this writing style is my favourite, short and punchy, straight to it to keep things moving quickly.
Thanks again and I wish you well and any comment from a great writer as you is poetry gold.
