" WHERE SHALL I SLEEP TONIGHT ?"

" WHERE SHALL I SLEEP TONIGHT ?"

" Where shall I sleep tonight ?" the old man said
Nobody listened as he decided on where to call his bed
Under Starbucks doorway a bit of luxury the old man thought
Hoping against hope tonight he would not be caught

For the old man was homeless and lives on the street
An untidy looking man you should ever want to meet
This old man is still someone's father or son
To live this way is not joyous or fun

So it was under Starbucks doorway the old man went
A night not getting caught is a night well spent
The old man had a blanket and the stars up above
However all he ever wants is a meal, friendship and love

Another powerful poem to read tonight. So sad but it is a real issue and not enough is done for the homeless. A great piece
