Whirlwind Romance

It was a meeting by chance.
It was never intended ,
Chemistry at 1st glance.
Burning so bright ,
until it abruptly ended .

For a glorious , but brief time
the love was all consuming.
All laid plans , changed.
We were going to be together
for the rest of our days.

Now reflecting , reality checks are good things.
Our love & lust blinded us ,
We flew without wings
No real damage , happy memories ,  slightly bruised lives .
A lesson too ..
The power of whirlwinds , 
They fade as quick , as they arrive .
