A Whisper Deep

I sat in fire—a weeping calm. Spirit engulfed the temple.
Darkness kissed the light. I felt the richest sorrow, an
Angel’s scar. Such enigma—a distant love; and such appeal,
A mystic thought. We live the cave, unraveled—our souls.
And depth the core, a partial wing—yearning its sister.
My ephod tear—and silent dice—such love, falters love.
And steeple bells—echo the spirit; and prophet eyes, wail
The buds. My cultic pang—a crystal joy; and depth the
Heart—sheer majesty. And such life, a furnace spark—my
Antre love—for such is life. [Selah] I sat in fire—a
Weeping calm. Spirit engulfed the temple. How part with
Love, a seed buried depth the soil? Thus the ache, a
Whisper deep; and thus, a fragment, gnawing thorns; and
Thus, a fire—to whelm the heart.
