White Towel

You are as a wave upon the coastline
caught in a freeze

or you could be washed up brittle coral
Although you feel more gentle
like an albino feline

Not quite as subtle as gelato
yet certainly soothing as silk

You accompany me in the transition
from equatorial jungle to siberian tundra

You are my mediating priest
incarnated into lamb's wool
as I morph from beast to modern gentleman

Knotted on the tiles like quartz
you are impersonal

And yet one of my most intimate companions
