Whittled away

Whittled away

In our minutes of happiness and our seconds of bliss
Blissfully one battles on looking back to reminisce
Reminiscing past places we used to adore
Adoration for those faces that are not with us any more
More often than not we dwell in our past
Past moments were memorable so memories to last
Lasting one’s lifetime and eternity
Eternity is neverending beyond infinity

As I pause in reflection and try to recall
Recollecting my loved ones I am lost in enthral
Enthralling fascination by beautiful treasures
Treasurable traces that brought me such pleasures
Pleasurable past times from my childhood years
Years sadly gone but never forgot
Forgotten would be my very own utmost fears
Fearfulness from my lost yesterday
Yesterdays youthfulness that has whittled away

It's terrifying how fast time flies by Jill and I too get more sentimental as time goes by. I would give anything to have a cuppa with my nan one more time, or get drunk with my best friend...but they are gone in the physical now...thoughtful write xxx
