WHY HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN US?
Dear polititians,
The shame you all now carry!....
Because we have to show you each and every day...... our sadness
And we now have to beg you all to care!
Pleading for you to look and see that our bravery is still there.
Because you polititians in our government, in these modern times
Have conveniently forgotten us all
We now have no jobs and therefore have nowhere to live or go!
But you all pass us by in the streets, turning your faces away as you hurry on so.
You don`t wish to see our sadness or our plight
You deliberately ignore us and quickly hurry along in the cold winter night.
We`re all feeling so cold, we have nowhere to go and nothing to eat
In our threadbare clothes with our frost bitten feet.
We look you directly in the eye because we want you to see
The state of our health, all the brave soldiers that we used to be.
Please come and speak to us for you have that freedom, that choice!
Because of your lack of compassion we are forgotten, homeless, now we have no political voice!
Gratitude and respect will solve so many problems for us and for others
It`s the answer to the thousands of our brave fellow comrades, our sisters and brothers!
By really looking and seeing the destitution, it will take that shameful cloak from your cold unseeing eyes!
It will teach you things so conveniently forgotten, all the veterens on the streets, with so many others!
It may even teach you to care and how to empathise!
Appreciation and respect is the wavelength on which you all need to be
Because your compassion and gratitude could save thousands of veterans who suffer from such terrible P.T.S.D

What a beautiful plea you have written for the dear Veterans, many of whom have given their lives for our freedom, but have been forgotten by their governments. I am in the process of writing a poem which you have inspired, dealing with this issue. I am going to post it tomorrow, but I'm thanking you beforehand for it's inspiration.

I`m looking forward to reading your new one sweetie. I`m glad you liked this one, it`s important that the ordinary folk don`t allow our leaders to forget those that have given their lives and those who have come home injured from battle. The powers that be would soon be sick if nobody signed up to the forces wouldn`t they!! They should think about that!! I come from many, many generations of forces people, I grew up in the army while my dad served for 30 years for them.

do their time in service to come out of wars maimed in body and mind
and then forgotten

The situation is totally shameful my Debs, soldiers living on the streets and going without treatment for horrible P.T.S.D. because the polititions are too busy being greedy and lining their own bank accounts at the expense of our brave and dedicated men and women.
