Why Trade Faiths?

Airbrush perfection: such an abstraction; and kiss a thought:
A treasured vice; and such artwork, the kiln of grey; and
Brush and ink—an illusion. We painted murals; and traded
Joys; and woodcut dreams—failed affection. Why should

I trade lights?—to compliment an imp?; and so grey the
Precepts—a need to varnish; and thus, the fence; and thus,
The grief. Something’s broken, a faulty tone; and sketch a
Thought: a sign: For Sale. The greatest minds: and still the

Pain; and Namaste—a candid flame. I carved a prayer, and
Mailed a tear; and marble hopes, the prey of wolves; and
Fathom paint: a grin collage; and fathom hate: a faint
Applause. Engrave a volt, a chiseled face; and art to life: the
Seas of faith; and grip the pearl—a world of pain; and soul
To God—the sky of flame.
