Wicker Blues

Wicker Blues

Wicker blues,
And rocking chairs.

Longer days,
Weathered sidings
And rag dolls

A windowsill dressing,
And front porch dreams
Setting days a sail.

Simpler times
And sweet tea kisses.
Hopscotch
Along the street-side.

A rainstorm entertains
While nature abounds.
Fresh cut grass
Giving time to play ball.

Chasing clouds
As the pass by,
Or counting stars
In the night sky.

A child’s bow
In the tail of a kite,
As winds carry in her wishes.

Oh those wicker blues
And rocking chairs.
