Wide Awake

5 a.m eyes wide, with eagerness and surprise. Not a soul is awake the sun is on the rise. Then I remember I have no one to share, this moment with, my heart is cold and bare. I see happy family's and I try not to stare I never had that moving from here to there. I have a fall out father and a drugged out mom so I never recieved anything when christmas came along. I was only 6 and I could see right from wrong, so I sat alone and wrote christmas songs. I recieved a cold heart that year and it has never been the same all I could think was that my parents were to blame. I never grew up in any fortune or fame but my mom wss on meth dad in the pimp game. I grew up cold and all the people were wax and fake gun shots christmas morning is why I was wide awake. That was the moment changed my fate the 25th was no longer christmas it was just another day. This is the way I lived when I was young fightin for turf with a rag and a gun. Christmas was a time we got robbed that was never any fun. So next time you lay wide awake eager to open presents think of kids like me living like castle day peasents. Who never had a thing growing up in the hood santa didn't care if we were bad or good but hey what could I say if santa passed through some dudes would jack his slay. Feel for people like me and be thankful for what you have cause one day you might see christmas from the point of the poor and sad. You lay wide awake cause of the day that approches I'm glad to be alive, here's another day that needs all my focus
