William Tecumseh Sherman

Look at my face!!!!
I had a job to do....
I burned it all down
as my stomach turned
I felt...
but I was numbed by war
I plowed the south down
I maid Georgia howl..
Had the worst of the worst
under my command...
They wanted me to run
for president ...what a laugh
I would rather go to prison
In the end war was
all just moonshine for me
the people that cry for war the most
never have picked up a gun
Nor had ever heard a very
young man scream out for his mother
in a trench...
āWAR IS CRUELTY.
THERE IS NO USE TRYING TO REFORM IT.
THE CRUELER IT IS, THE SOONER IT WILL BE OVER.ā
I did my job⦠look at my faceā¦. cant you tell????

Hey mark I have read a lot about Mr Sherman . There was no reason to burn that path all way down the Savanah river . He was a little reckless but he did get the job done .there were bad generals on both sides. Great write cheers rockĀ
