Some are sunlight, warm and bright,
Filling your spirit with their light.
They lift you up, they make you strong,
Where you belong, where you've longed.

Their laughter echoes, clear and free,
A melody of joy for you and me.
They paint the world in vibrant hues,
And chase away the weary blues.

But some are shadows, dark and deep,
Whose chilling presence makes you weep.
They suck the life, the joy, the grace,
Leaving behind an empty space.

Their words like thorns, they pierce and sting,
A constant, weary, suffering.
They drain your strength, your will to fight,
And plunge your world into the night.

So choose with care, the friends you keep,
The seeds of love you sow and reap.
For some will nourish, some will blight,
Pick them wisely, for your own light.
