Poem -

willow tree

When I saw you you were like a willow tree.
Enchanting
Magical
Powerful
Free
I climbed your sturdy branches swinging off them in glee. Not once did I think I'd fall
Fall of the branches of your brown lushly stalks
Not once did I think the air you provided me would be my biggest flaw
Not once did I think the apples you grew that helped newton law would be the fall of me
Not once
You. you were the tree, you provided for me
You. Your were tree that gave me food shelter air comfort and peace.
Well until the lightning struck
One day on a warm summer 1918
I climbed a willow tree
A willow tree with apples I didn't dare eat
A willow tree with mould I always tried to pick clean
A willow tree that lied
A tree that looked perfect to me
No flimsy branches, easy to snatch leaves
I climbed a willow tree
Until I felt as though I was a bird
As though I could see god through the sun rays
I saw the sun
I saw the seas
I saw a friendship invincible to anything
But I didn't see that branch
And I hear the snap of the broken willow tree
I couldn't see the sun
I couldn't see the sea
I couldn't see that friendship we built on craziness and eating weird chillies
I couldn't see the willow tree
The willow tree let me fall
So I fell to my death
Blood hydrated the roots of the willow tree
Blood hydrated the roots of the willow tree
Maybe I shouldn't have climbed the willow tree.
