Wings of a Dove

Wings of a Dove
 
On the wings of a dove I hope to fly
Forever after until the day that I die
 
Want to lead my life in happiness and peace
Where living comes with no sense of grief
 
To sail a small boat across the blissful sea
And see just what the future holds for me
 
Feel what it’s like to truly believe
Ignoring all those who chose to deceive
 
Walk down to the beckoning ocean’s shore
Love in my heart but still desire something more
 
Bathe myself in the ocean’s incoming tide
It’s on the waves of emotion that I ride
 
My tears remembered by the one who broke my heart
I must have cried a million tears since we’ve been apart
 
The smell of summer’s in the fragrant air
I search for signs of hope nearly everywhere
 
The brilliant sun he goes down alone
Warms my senses just to have a home
 
I will fall asleep somewhere deep in the night
Hope my prayers are answered by the giver of light
 
In my dreams I will escape to a far off land
And the Lord above will be holding my hand
 
On my journey I have a million miles to go
Planted a seed of hope and I pray it will grow
 
Please let me experience everlasting love
Wrap my heart in the wings of a dove
