WINTER

feel how it crumbles this flower in
hand
left on its own on a bleak earth to
stand
who would forsake it...its beauty
to rot, alone and abandoned,
god must have forgot
to
rise it up gently, to heaven and
peace
to be with all others so broken and
beat
instead it stands lonesome, it's
flesh left to rot
who would forsake it
god must have forgot...

The great God delusion, I grew up to believe in this almighty creator, a single individual who looks after us but I quickly learned that this wasn't true, all you have to do is look at humanity and how certain people treat the young, like the flower, Left to rot.
Great poem Marion, it's very sad, I love it.
Hi Gerard, yes I understand exactly where you are coming from. I too have issues, a great unease of soul and despite delving, searching and reading, I cannot find anything that gels the idea of a good and loving creator with the extreme suffering on earth. Thankyou ...hugs x
Try scripture. Youâll feel it. Some of the best poetry is in there. God is in you I see it in your writingÂ
Oh god...well don't read the ones where he's not in lol...they'll traumatise you.
thanks so much for taking the time Hayley x

I love, Love, love this, Marion. And metaphorically brilliant. I can only hope that God has other plans for this poor flower .... he/she might. Mightn't he ...or she xx
It is sad though isn't it...to see that last lone sunflower, black, wilted and hanging on...thanks Tinaxx
It is sad, yes, it's always sad to see such things.... but the way you write about it is just brilliant x
Course we both know it's not really about a flower ar all don't we...so many hugs to you lovely lady xx
We sure do!  Lots of hugs to you too xx  â¤ď¸
that crumbling flower becomes the stuff of other beauty
as does your poetry become the stuff of inspiration
You are so kind my friend, thankyou,
I still read your work
'The Cormorant' Mark, it is probably one of the best things I have ever read, it inspires such sadness and deep reflection in me, I don't think you appreciate what a masterpiece it is
you really should enter it in a high profile competition, insincerely mean all that
it is a truly brilliantly written and very moving work...I would kill to have written something so classically timeless
hugs X
