Winter is upon us

Winter is upon us

I heard you last night as I lay wide awake, tho I couldn’t see you I knew of your heartache.. as I listened carefully I thought you were in pain so I looked out of my window but that was in vain.. yes I could hear your yelps loud and clear, you wimpered wails of agonising fear.. but only the shadows of the trees did I see, your strong silhouette was invisible to me

Your sturdiness had subtance with strength and clear clout as you bellowed your blusterers without any doubt..why were you so angry ? what an earth was your grumble ? when you shook the tall trees and the rivers did rumble..I didn’t feel safe as I lay in my bed as my nerves were being shattered in zillions of shreds..yet I was in the security of my little house, Oh how I was pleased I was not a field mouse..then thru the blasts of the blizzards, my weary eyes closed and I heard you no more when I dreamt and I dosed

When I awoke from my daydream your despair was done, like a ship that had sailed thru the night, you were gone.. leaving puddles on the paths from your pouring rain, the dirt and the debris strewn around was insane..but the serenity and stillness was a welcome relief from the shock of your sudden stormy disbelief..so whatever had tumbled you over the edge had driven your backbone off the precipice ledge..whilst Winter is upon us with winds chilly and bleak, you will be back like a bolt with your fitness of freak..but till then I won’t miss your demise nor shall I regret, as I dread your return of what we will get
