WISHES

        WISHES             TIM WILLIAMS            SEPTEMBER 2014

WISHES PASS LIKE THE BREATH OF NEWBORN KITTENS
LAPPING OVER MY LIPS
THE THINGS WISHED FOR ARE SIMPLE, EFFECTIVE THINGS
BUT THEY WILL NEVER BE WHISPERED AND
ROLLED OVER MY TONGUE AGAIN,
FOR FEAR OF THEIR SPELL BEING BROKEN

IN REFLECTIVE EYE'S I SWEAR I SEE
THE KITES OF REGRET ,
A FRAGILE TEAR DROPPED SPIDER'S WEB OF REGRET,
BUT WE MUST NOT TAKE THEIR HEED,
IGNORE THE CALL OF THEIR PLUCKING HARP STRINGS,
ALWAYS WISHING, BUT NO REGRETS.
