Poem -

THE WITHERED TREE

the thick dark branches

stretch across the black sky

blood stains the soil

were so many men lay to die

the roots are poisoned

by selfish greed and sin

the trees demonic shape

resembles a haunting grin

forever in the shadows

hate meshing with the bark

this tree needs no light

inside something evil very dark

flesh and blood rest upon the roots

no soul will ever be free

pray you never rest your head

on the old withered tree

A lovely haunting little tale Steven.  Great rhyme and flow from start to finish.  Very nicely penned.  A vote from me:)
