Witty, Delicately and Nice
My poem featured in the new Jane Austen: an anthology of thoughts of opinions
Hi Cosmo fellow poets!! I know I haven't been on cosmo recently but it's good to be back reading your writes again. I have missed it!!
I am also very pleased to announce that my poem "Witty, Delicately and Nice," is in the new "Jane Austen: an anthology of thoughts and opinions" released in May 2020!! It's my first poem featured in an anthology!! Was really excited when I found out it got accepted last month!
Here is my poem....enjoy x
Pride and prejudice
It's my kind of read
A world so different
An era of past, indeed
Created by the words of Jane Austen
Humorous and light
Charming us all from the beginning
Isn't that right?!
Dynamic characters that draw you in
Society, class and social etiquette
Exposed within
The delights of invited balls
The place to be for young singletons
Dressed in lavish attire
Dancing with potential suitors
And having intimate conversations
Are ALL a real eye opener!
The possibility of courtship is in range
Eloquent candidness subtlely exchanged
While finding the right Mr (Darcy)
So to say
For the lovely Miss Elizabeth Bennett
Is quite enormous to arrange!
Strong willed and matter of factly
On her quest for love
Contradiction becomes satisfactory
Walks in the countryside
Chaperoned by a man
With misunderstandings and surprises
How much more can I explain?!
Actually....!!!
After putting her prejudices aside
And he his pride
Romance blooms happily
Let's go for that ride!
To escape into this century
With its horses and carriages
Corsets and top hats
It's all about getting married
To a man of good fortune
How about that?!
A time now forgotten
The old ways lost
Not in favour for ladies of the past
But remembered in these words today
Of how it once was
Executed by a stylish leading lady
With true elegance and voice
And portrayed by Jane Austen
So witty, delicately and nice!

I would like to be in more anthologies or other publications. It's much easier than doing a whole book!! Lol. But I will do another book eventually. Have a great day...Pxxx

Aaww I still to get my copy!! Aaaww thanks. Since publishing my book last year and then joining the different facebook poetry groups....I didnt realise how much stuff is going on in the poetry world!! People submit to anthologies or other poetry mags or journals!! Its enormous. Jill and Greg have both joined the passion of poetry on fb that I'm on now. Been chatting to Jill alot via messenger. Plus a massive amount of people doing poetry on Instagram!! Pxxx
