Words are my skin, it was once paper thin but over time of my years, l met my poet kin.
Yes, I write poetry of sadness mostly but they're remnants of my history, to be shared with my newfound kin of sorrowfulness.
A great poet mentioned one of my collaborations was impeccable, but was looking for a better word, exquisite springs to mind.
Okay the above sentence didn't rhyme but it was a thank you, and an answer l didn't answer at the time.
Depression comes in many guises its coping mechanisms come that way to.
If it wasn't for my family and my writing my poems wouldn't reach you.
( Don't worry family l just meant l wouldn't write )
We dare to share, we dare to bear,
We dare to care because all of the above is seldom given freely, and for those of you out there that's rare.
I may joke from time to time, that's just one of my many coping mechanisms kicking out doubt sending to blow through a wind-chime.
Okay so the last word above may sound a bit of a stretch but a wind-chime is soothing, they're someone else's coping mechanism.
Another mechanism, is art I teach my grandchildren, and family; many forms of it. There's also writing mostly children's short stories, but Graphic Novels to, Fan Fiction, and Fantasy also Thrillers to name a few, it all helps.
I have a question for my poet kin, what's your coping mechanism, write your comment/answer in a form of poetry?!
And for those of you who only view, take a pew write a line maybe even a few, reach out start something new.
