Words Cut Deep

WORDS CUT DEEP.
Don’t laugh at me
you’re nothing but a bully.
I know I don’t have fancy clothes
or a new car
Where I come from
just to find food
you have to search near and far.
I may be different than you
I might not have money
or lots of fancy things
your cruel jokes are not very funny.
You may not know it
or for that matter even care
but behind my back
I hear the whispers and snickers about the clothes I wear.
So please don’t be mean
your words cut quite deep
You can’t face the mirror
and I have no problem getting to sleep.
I’m the little kid whose always chosen last
standing on the sidelines
just because I’m not big and fast
no football player am I
nor track star too
you are so hateful
it oozes out of you.
I can’t run a mile
or lift a hundred pounds
if you would give me a chance
Love I have to give without any bounds.
I’m the girl whose not the popular, skinny one
the one you make fun of
and pick on all the time
one day I’ll be pretty
and you will lose your mind.
When will come the day
we all can get along and care for others
peace will be here to stay
and stop getting your joy from the pain of another.
So before you laugh and stare at me
just remember one last saying
you’re so full of hate that true beauty you can’t see
I’m so much better than you
and you’ll never know true love
from a caring friend like me!
